COVID-19 SERVICE UPDATE

If you are self-isolating or displaying any coronavirus symptoms then we will not be able to carry out work within your home, unless there is a direct risk to your safety.

Before any visits to your home, whether to provide an initial quote or to carry out work, we will call you in advance to confirm that no-one in your household is self-isolating or displaying any symptoms of the virus.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

- A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

- A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

-A  loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

If any of our workers begin displaying symptoms of coronavirus they will self-isolate for 14 days. Unfortunately, this may mean postponing a home visit or work that has been planned until a later date.

Appointments in the home

- We ask that only absolutely necessary participants should attend appointments and should maintain 2m separation where possible.

- We will avoid transmission during appointments, by not sharing pens or other objects.

- We ask that we hold meetings outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms whenever possible. It may be that our workers enter the room(s) requiring work on their own, to assess the site, and then discuss the work to be carried out afterwards outside or in a well-ventilated room.

Working in the home
- We will sanitise hands before entering your home and will wash hands (or use hand sanitiser where hand washing facilities are not available) regularly throughout the day.

- We ask that a 2m distance is kept from those working, if possible.

- We ask that households leave all internal doors open to minimise contact with door handles.

- We will ask you to help us identify busy areas across the household where people travel to, from or through, for example, stairs and corridors, and minimise movement within these areas.

- We will bring our own food and drink to households and have breaks outside where possible.

- If you are planning on having other contractors on-site we ask that you limit the number of workers within the household to maintain social distancing.

Keeping the work area clean
- We ask that you clean all surfaces and objects our workers will need to touch within your home before their visit. If you are cleaning after a known or suspected case of coronavirus then you should refer to the specific Government guidance.

- We will clean all surfaces and objects we have touched within your home at the end of each job, or each day.

- We will either remove all waste from the home to dispose of safely or will arrange methods of safely disposing waste with the householder.

Hygiene
We will follow these hygiene guidelines:

- Washing hands more often than usual for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose.

- Reducing the spread of germs when you cough or sneeze by covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve, not your hands. Throw the tissue in a bin immediately, then wash your hands.

- Cleaning regularly touched objects and surfaces using your regular cleaning products to reduce the risk of passing the infection on to other people.

- If handwashing facilities are not accessible, you should use hand sanitiser.
